LOVE LETTERS TO NEW YORK

Tracy: Where do people go when they leave New York?
Marcello: The real world

The first time I ever saw Manhattan on tv I made a wish to find myself at the mercy of this geographical center. Actually the first thing I ever remember watching on tv was the moon landing. 1969 I was four years old, after that I always dreamed of becoming an airline pilot. To my dismay I would find out as I studied math at little Wescosville school, it would not be one of my strong subjects! As I grew older I realized I was a free spirit, bohemian and landing a job sitting in an office all day or working for someone else not in my life plan.

Tracy: New York is the perfect place to be single. The city is your date.
Marcello: Your dating the city?
Tracy: For about the last four years. It's getting serious, I think I'm in love

I love New York because we order pizza from the Italian place across the street( run by the Mexican's) and have our laundry delivered, oh heck, we have everything delivered! We take a taxi to the gym, us girls going to Soul Cycle.  We know exactly what we want out of life and our careers, but can't decide where to eat dinner. We make plans and don't keep them.(sooo me, I have been doing this to my Emmaus high friends since 1978. (It's my signature Tracyism) We think a studio apartment for $1,500 a month is a steal, but get pissed when our morning coffee stop raises their prices 25 cents. We fight with the cabbies about their driving skills but haven't driven in years or don't even have a drivers license.
Reinventing myself in New York after my divorce was the best therapy a gal could ever do. Working on the hairdressing scene in this bus stop city was also an incredibly adventure. My life doing hair in the vastly different worlds sometimes causing me to freak how behind my hometown truly is. But everyone needs to feel beautiful in their own right and pushing My Lower Macungie girls into change was not good. Here everyone wears a straight "Mom Bob", in the city most girls have very long hair. The average NYC girl spending $6,000 to $10,000 a year in blow dry's. Oh my, what would your husbands say to that?!
Here are some pictures of the city I have fallen in love with. Enjoy My New York! ciao
