Calling All Sheeprock Trekkies!

Hiking to "Sheeprock" by dawn's early light, rewards with a grand panoramic view of 2/3 of Lehigh County, parts of Berks & Northampton counties.

If you are an earlier riser and like to hike - we have the perfect plan for your Thanksgiving morning. 

is coordinating the 83rd Annual "Sheeprock Trek" and Thanksgiving Sunrise Service on Thursday, November 24. 

The hike departs at 5:45 am from the grounds at 31 S. Walnut Street in Macungie.  There is plenty of parking available at the Fire Company.

The hike is free and open to the general public and no registration is needed. 

Once you hike up the mountain to a rocky area known as "Sheeprock," there will be a special Thanksgiving Message by Elijah McCready, Global Engagement Coordinator for The Kings College in New York City.

Elijah grew up at in Macungie and was Macungie's Youth Ambassador during its year-long 150th Anniversary Celebration in 2007. 

During his time as a student at The Kings College, Elijah literally traveled around the world and now coordinates overseas trips for College students. 

The Rev. Dr. Martha Boyer, Pastor of in Macungie will be participating in the Service with prayers and reflections. 

The hike is actually sponsored by and Macungie Girl Scout Troop 413.  Hot chocolate and doughnuts will be served after the service back at the Macungie Fire Company. 

In the event of inclement weather, the service will be held in the Macungie Volunteer Fire Dept. garage starting at 5:45 am.
