20 Engines Taken from Mack Plant

Valued at $390,000, motors are found a day later in Bucks County, police say.

Like a lost bulldog that finds its way home, it appears that a truck trailer with 20 engines stolen from the in Lower Macungie earlier this month has been located and will be returned to its owner.

Instead of being found just up the block, these runaway puppies were found about 60 miles away in Falls Township, Bucks County, according to .

Their value? That would be $390,000 for all 20, police said.

But just how did 20 new truck engines run away from the manufacturing plant at 7000 Alburtis Road? Police said they had a little help from a tractor-trailer and its driver.

The theft occurred at 5:06 p.m. March 6 when a driver hooked up the cab of his empty trailer to that of the trailer carrying the 20 new engines, police said. He simply drove out the gate.

The trailer and all its engines were found at 11:40 a.m. March 7 in Falls Township, which is near Yardley, police said. They did not detail the circumstances under which it was found but said the investigation is continuing.
