The accident happened on Brookside Road near the Buckeye Tavern in Lower Macungie.

Four people were injured in a two-vehicle crash Saturday afternoon near the Buckeye Tavern in Lower Macungie.

State police at Fogelsville said one of the drivers, Gloria J. Knappenberger, 45, and her passenger, Shelby R. Knappenberger, 19, both of Emmaus, had to be extricated from their vehicle. The two, who suffered serious injuries, were taken by ambulance to Lehigh Valley Hospital-Cedar Crest.

According to police, Gloria Knappenberger was stopped at a stop sign on N. Walnut Street at 1:26 p.m. and attempted to turn left onto Brookside Road when it was not clear to do so.

Knappenberger's car rolled on its side on impact.

Pappas and her passenger, Dionysios C. Pappas, 34, also of Macungie, suffered minor injuries and were taken by ambulance to LVH-Cedar Crest, police said.
