50 to 100 'Rare' Coins Reported Stolen in Lower Mac

Overnight burglary leaves woman without dozens of valuable coins, police say.

A Lower Macungie Township woman unintentionally found someone who shares her interest in coin collecting only that person wasn't so interested in sharing anything else.

Someone entered a residence at 4587 Hedgerow Drive N. between 8:30 p.m. Nov. 19 and 6:30 a.m. Nov. 20, according to state police at Fogelsville. They stole 50 to 100 coins described as being rare.

The coins belonged to Joann E. Kean of the 6900 block of Lincoln Drive, Macungie, police said. The incident is being investigated as a burglary.

Police did not state the value of the coins.
