Someone recently tried to steal the tires from an Acura in Lower Macungie Township, resulting in major damage to the car when it collapsed, according to state police at Fogelsville.

Police say that someone jacked up the Acura in the 1700 block of Pinewind Drive at 4:58 a.m. Thursday (Sept. 26) and removed the lug nuts from all the tires.

In the process of removing the tires, the vehicle fell off the blocks that were used to hold it up, according to police, causing the frame of the car to collapse.

Nothing was reported stolen, police say.

The incident is still under investigation. Anyone with information is asked to call the state police at 610-395-1438.
