Training:  “I have been trained in basics and essentials. It’s really about all I need, since I help with the fire police. I do not want to be a firefighter. That’s not for me, but I like directing the traffic.”

Describe your job with the fire company.  “I have been with the department for about a year and help direct traffic with the fire police when there is an accident or fire.”

Why did you choose to become a firefighter/fire police? “It makes me feel like I am helping out in the community. Some of my friends from high school are on the fire crew, too.”

Tell us a story you'll never forget about your firefighting experience.  “I decided to help at the department after the husband of one of my good friends committed suicide on the railroad tracks.  It was then that I decided I wanted to help in the community in some way and chose to be on the fire police.”

What would you tell people interested in joining your fire company?  “I would tell them it is a good idea and a great way to help in the community.”
