Teens Stole Cigarettes from Wawa, Police Say

The theft is among recent incidents reported by the Pennsylvania State Police.

Two Allentown teens have been charged with retail theft for stealing cigarettes from a Lower Macungie Township Wawa on Tuesday, according to the Pennsylvania State Police.

Nazeer Bassam, 18, and a 17-year-old male, entered the Wawa at 3321 Willow Lane at about 1 a.m. and each took a pack of cigarettes and left the store, police say. The police were called and when they arrived, Bassam and the other teen took off on foot.

The 17-year-old was caught after a brief foot chase, police say. Police later called Bassam on the phone and asked him to return to the Wawa, which he did a short time later.
