Another Attempted Air Conditioner Theft at Walmart, Police Say

An Allentown man was arrested after he walked out of the Lower Macungie Walmart without paying for the air conditioner in his shopping cart.

An Allentown man recently was arrested for attempting to steal an air conditioner from the Lower Macungie Township Walmart, according to Pennsylvania State Police, Fogelsville.

Jeffrey Thomson walked into the store at 1091 Mill Creek Road on Wednesday afternoon, put the air conditioner into a shopping cart, and left the store at 3:17 p.m. without paying police say.

Thomson then fled the scene and was later arrested, police say.

This isn’t the first time that air conditioners have been shoplifted from the Lower Macungie Walmart. In fact, Patch stories dating back to a year ago, refer to repeated thefts of big-ticket items from the store, including laptops, televisions and air conditioners.

On June 26, 2012, according to a report from the state police, someone took two air conditioning units valued at $326.42.
