So..Everyone that was blaming the driver, what do you have to say for yourselves??? Everyone wanted to make an example out of the driver in this incident and the state police, who I think know A LOT more than you and I, found the driver innocent. Now what is everyone going to complain about?? The State Police were wrong?? I HIGHLY doubt that..

Jayden, with all due respect..you are a moron. I was in a vehicle and witnessed the whole thing. There were 3 adults and one child in the crosswalk at the same time. The adults were walking and were at least half way through the intersection when the child ran. The driver tried to beat them all and struck the boy. a clear violation of PA Title 75 3542 subsection a (look it up Jayden). Just because the investigating trooper decided he wanted to go home early that night and not face a hearing on the issue, does not mean he made the right decision. Officers have discretion, sometimes they use it right, and sometimes they take the easy way and are lazy. No matter, I hear attorneys are looking into it and if the wrong decisions were made, it will come to light. School districts, townships.... a lot of people's asses are on the line. Watch and learn grasshopper...watch and learn.

Saw too much, you are right, I saw it to. I guess it is open season on pedestrians in crosswalks in lower Mac? What a joke.

What a shame. I don't know how the officers came to this conclusion. Wow, I will stay out of crosswalks in the township.

I was walking my dog and saw what happened. This makes me sick to my stomach. I can’t believe he was not arrested. I will avoid that intersection in the future.

The police did there job. They must have known something. Cut them a break, they are the professional investigators after all.
Jarredisawesome June 09, 2011 at 12:09 AM
YoMomma, you are a fool to think government (state or local) employees will not take the easy way out. They are paid the same if they arrest or not. It is easy to blame it on a kid, less paperwork, no citations or hearings.

Whats the bag limit on lower macungie residents? Sounds like it is open season. Is there a size requirement or is it hit and keep. Guess State laws do not apply here. I just want to know the limit before I break any laws.
Hunter07 June 09, 2011 at 12:58 AM
Wow. I am walking no more. What a joke. Poor kid, I hope he is ok. Why have laws if they are not to be enforced? lot's of witnesses and the State Police still thinks the motorist is innocent. I always thought PSP was the best of the best. No more. Give us twp. residence a local police force who cares about the community and not I-78. These troopers are a joke.

I agree Hunter. They are traffic cops and that's it. Look at Alburtis. Offering rewards? Must be desperate. We need a dedicated community Police Dept. Sure taxes will go up, but tell me the last time the Fogelsville barracks has solved a crime? The only arrest they made is if it fell in their laps. Let them patrol the interstate and give us a real police force to take care of investigations in the township.

Funny, PSP dropped the height requirements from 6'to below. Now we have little troopers with a Napoleon complex. God help us...Lazy midgets....we're screwed.

I saw it, the kid ran out. The only way the driver could've seen him is if he had been staring at the kid the whole time, instead of watching the oncoming traffic (and if he had been doing that, there could've just as easily been another accident). Kids run in front of cars. It happens. Just thank goodness he's alright, instead of blaming the driver for not being psychic and paying attention only to the kid.
