Church-Going War Vet Finds Tires, Rims Stolen, Police Say

Thief jacked up vehicle overnight and took all four rims valued at $1,600, troopers report.

If the person or persons who recently stole the rims and tires from a car in Lower Macungie Township haven't yet felt remorse, perhaps they will when they read details from the police report.

For starters, the victim was an 85-year-old man who lives at 4533 N. Hedgerow Drive, according to state police at Fogelsville. A jack was used to raise the car.  All four rims and tires were removed, and the vehicle was left raised and setting on milk crates.

Next, one look at the man's license plate should have told any thief that the victim was a World War II veteran, the report duly notes.
