Debit Card Fraud Costs Holder More Than $1,600

Police say someone used the card of a Lower Macungie resident to buy 'multiple items' worth $1,614.22.

In an act of credit card fraud, someone went on a daylong shopping spree for items totaling $1,614.22 -- using the debit card of a Lower Macungie resident.

State police say the debit card legitimately belongs to a 45-year-old woman who lives in the Martin Farms subdivision south of Alburtis. And all the shopping with the card was done Monday, police say.

A state police fax does not say how the user got hold of the debit card or what exactly was bought, except to say it was for "multiple purchases."
