Lehigh Valley County Animal Response Team is providing "O2 Fur Life" kits to help animals in emergencies.

The Lehigh Valley County Animal Response Team (LVCART) on Tuesday presented several area fire companies with O2 Fur Life rescue kits in its ongoing effort to help first responders care for animals at emergency scenes.

The kits comprise tubing and small, medium and large masks that fit over an animal's snout.

Each kit cost $75, and LVCART's goal is to purchase and distribute 80 kits to first responders in Lehigh and Northampton counties.

So far the group has ordered 50 kits and counts on sponsors and fundraisers to come up with the money.

Lisa Scibetta, a veterinarian with in Wescosville, sponsored the kits given out Tuesday.
