Emmaus Streaker a Hit on Social Media

Freedom High School won the game but an Emmaus teen stole the show streaking on the football field Friday.

A naked Emmaus teen ran onto the field at Friday's high school football game, according to Bethlehem police.

And social media is buzzing.

The student, 17, was charged with disorderly conduct, open lewdness and defiant trespass after his stunt as the Hornets opposed Freedom High School.

Freedom may have won the game. but social media is buzzing with what appears to be a photo of the Emmaus streaker. Students and others are re-Tweeting the photo across the community, including sharing it with Emmaus Patch.

The boy stripped naked and ran on the field before a stadium security guard caught him as he tried to climb a fence and escape, according to Lehigh Valley Live. The boy told officials his stunt was part of a senior prank.

The social media flurry features students Tweeting in support of their classmate - even creating a Twitter hash tag specific to the streaker's capture and urging others to make the hash tag a trending topic. (A hash tag is a label used on Twitter to categorize related tweets. Trending topics are popular Twiitter labels.)

There were more than 50 tweets about the stunt between Friday and Sunday - many including a link to an Instagram photo.

Here are some of the Tweets:

  • It takes major balls to do streak during a game
  • We didnt win. At least we have the only streaker in the lvc doe!!?!?
  • My favorite play was when that tight end ran across the field naked
  • We win no matter what thanks to our star player

Naked Emmaus students caused a stir last year in a sexting scandal. Boyfriends shared pictures of naked ex-girlfriends that ultimately wound up on an international porn website.

An Emmaus streaker from years past has gained notoriety via the Internet. A streaker named "Sam" got raucous cheers in this YouTube video from 2007

East Penn School District officials could not be reached for comment.

D.Nile, that's exactly the type of overreaction I'm talking about. Get over yourself.

Laugh out loud people, I did!

You got the name right bystander, now say it over and over and over again...turn your phone in and try explaining your nude pictures of 17-year-olds to the police. Children exposing themselves nude in public is not funny...and people snapping pictures and posting them on the internet is even less funny. "Get over yourself"...pfft...I don't plan on "getting over" protecting dumb kids from doing wrong and being exploited by sickos...I'm glad people were looking out for me when I was a dumb kid.

Lets see considering that nude website still exists and gets updated daily with students from different areas both past and present and here we are debating over books and a kid who decided to do something funny and youthful that we have either seen before or done in the past is kinda dumb. Our issues should be elsewhere then again news is news!
