Some thefts are preventable.

Pennsylvania Stat Police recently reported the following Lower Macungie incidents:

Theft from motor vehicle: Reported by Samantha Ludwig at 6479 Village Lane; $250 stolen between 6 and 8:30 p.m. March 9 from her unlocked vehicle, police said.

Access device fraud: Reported by an unidentified Highland Court resident; $1,094.14 purchase from the victim's American Express card on Feb. 22, police said.

Theft: Reported by Rosalie Keddington of 4880 Meadowview Drive; her purse and jacket were taken from an unknown location between midnight and 7 a.m. March 1, police said.

Theft from motor vehicle: Reported by a 49-year-old man in the 1700 block of Pinewind Drive; handicap placard stolen from inside his vehicle in his driveway, police said.

Charged: Catherine Leeds of Nace Avenue in Bethlehem; March 13 with retail theft at , 1091 Mill Creek Road; took $95 worth of makeup without paying for it, police said.

Charged: a 17-year-old girl from Allentown; March 14 stole $32.59 from , 6900 Hamilton Blvd., police said.
