Lower Mac Man Pleads Guilty in Bat Attack on Wife

John Geisinger admits to one count of aggravated assault in their home.

John Geisinger, the Lower Macungie man accused in September of beating his wife, Louella, with a baseball bat, pleaded guilty today in Lehigh County Court, according to a report on lehighvalleylive.com.

He also tried to drown her in a bathtub, according to state police reports from the Sept. 1 incident.

Geisinger's admission -- on one felony charge of aggravated assault -- carries a possible maximum sentence of 10 years in prison. It also takes a charge of  attempted homicide off the table, the lehighvalleylive report said.
