Lower Mac Residents Not Laughing Over Scrambled Eggs

At least two residences are pelted by eggs -- and one had fireworks salute, police say.

At least two incidents have left some chickens working overtime and some Lower Macungie homeowners none too happy.

According to , two vehicles pulled up to the home of Robyn Merithew at 4792 Belmont Drive at 3:10 a.m. Aug. 18 and pelted the exterior with nine dozen eggs. Not content to simply leave the home dripping in goo, those involved lit fireworks to add to the festivities.

Cleanup involved professional cleaning with an estimated cost of $1,000, police said.

A small, dark car with a loud muffler reportedly was involved as well as a larger white car.

Several miles away, James Langmayer of 6562 Rutherford Drive reported an incident of eggs being thrown at his house as well, but without the fanfare of fireworks. That incident was reported at 9 p.m. Aug. 17, police said, and without permanent damage or expensive cleanup.

Police did not state whether they believed the two incidents were connected.

Anyone with information is asked to call 610-395-1438.

If your house gets 9 Dozen eegs, it is not a prank but some sort of pay back. I'm sure these home owners must have some idea who and why even if they have no proof.
