Macungie Assault Plus Probation Equals Prison

Borough man is arrested for striking another, police say.

A Macungie man accused of assaulting another man early March 26 in the borough has landed in jail as a result, according to court records.

Corey Lee Cummings, 29, of 110 E. Main St. struck the other man, reported only as being 32 years old, according to . The 1:30 a.m. altercation took place in the block where Cummings lives.

Police did not detail whether the victim was injured or what led to the assault. However, they did say that the victim reported the incident, which led to Cummings' arrest at 11 a.m. at an unspecified place of employment for simple assault and harassment.

Cummings was on probation from previous charges, according to police and court records. Bail was set at $2,000, which he at least initially was unable to raise, leaving him lodged in Lehigh County Prison.
