Family: Stephanie lives with her boyfriend and recently graduated from Muhlenberg College with a BA in Political Science and American Studies with a minor in Photography.
Occupation: She works for 911 Dispatch for the City of Allentown.

Fire Company: Stephanie has volunteered as a firefighter and fire police with the for the past two and a half years.
Training: “I have Emergency Medical Technician training, HazMat training; I am a Rural Search and Rescue Technician, a CPR instructor, and have all the required training certifications to be a firefighter.”
Describe your job with the fire company: “As a member of the fire police, I direct traffic and help people at special events. Sometimes drivers are disappointed and upset when I can’t let them go on certain roads because of an emergency, even if they live there.
“I also help with bingo every Thursday. Its fun seeing the players enjoy themselves.
“Here at the fire company, it’s like running a household and most of the women here are like mother-figures. We generally clean up the place, make brownies and cookies for the guys to eat, make the coffee, etc.”
How do your loved ones feel about you putting your life in danger? “My family is used to it and proud of what I do. I worked for Cetronia Ambulance for six years before coming here and have managed to grow with it.”
Tell us a story you'll never forget about your firefighting experience. “I don’t really have any unforgettable stories yet. But, I have had great times. I enjoy the medical assistance calls when I can help the public and individuals. A couple of my favorite things include parking cars during events and giving kids Christmas stockings to decorate during the holiday event in December. I get a lot of fun and enjoyment at the little things that happen here.”
What would you tell people interested in joining your fire company? “There is no harm is trying, if you are unsure. Some people want to try, but never know if they will be good at it or enjoy it. You’ll never know unless you try.”
