Macungie Traffic Stop Yields Methamphetamine Arrest
Chester County man with outstanding warrant had meth manufacturing materials, borough police say.
What began as a routine traffic stop in Macungie ended with a Chester County man being arrested on an outstanding warrant and charges related to possession with intent to manufacture or deliver methamphetamine.
Rodney Hetherington, 36, of Kennett Square was pulled over for a traffic violation at 10:15 a.m. Jan. 28 at Brookfield and Village Walk drives, according to borough police. Police learned Hetherington was wanted on an unspecified outstanding warrant and arrested him.
Police also found in his vehicle liquefied amonia gas and other key ingredients involved in manufacturing methamphetamine, police said. Hetherington was taken to Lehigh County Central Booking for processing and arraignment.

In another borough incident, a 16-year-old boy was charged March 28 with threatening his parents with a knife, police said.
Police disarmed the juvenile during the incident at 11 a.m. at their Brookfield Circle home. The mother received a small cut to her lower back, but declined medical treatment, police said. The boy was charged with aggravated assault, simple assault, terroristic threats and possessing instruments of crime.
