Debit Card, GPS, Cigarettes Taken From Car; Thief Caught, Police Say

The following Lower Macungie incidents were supplied by troopers at the barracks in Fogelsville. Where arrests or charges are mentioned, it does not indicate a conviction.

Charged: Carmen Diachesyn, 43, of Lehighton, Carbon County, with retail theft; attempted to take $327.97 worth of merchandise Oct. 15 from Kohl's Department Store, 6900 Hamilton Blvd., police said.

Found Item: Child's book bag found Oct. 17 at Green and Driver places, police said; call police at 610-395-1438 to claim.

Theft from motor vehicle: Reported Oct. 13 by Wanda Valle of Spring Creek Road; GPS, cigarettes and debit card taken from vehicle, police said; 29-year-old Whitehall Township man arrested after attempting to use the debit card in a local grocery store.

Criminal mischief: Reported by residents of 7138 Tuscany Drive at 9:50 p.m. Oct. 27; someone took a running jump to kick and dent a garage door at the residence, police said; no damage estimate provided.

Theft: Reported by Sarah Nicole Shipe of 6532 Hickory Road; X-Box and flatscreen TV stolen from her room between Oct. 20-24, police said; no value given.
