Man Hit, Killed by Train Near Emmaus

Coroner is called to the scene, according to scanner reports.

A man reportedly was hit and killed by a train in Upper Milford Township Monday morning, according to emergency scanner transmissions.

were called to Norfolk Southern tracks in the borough about 11:25 a.m., according to the reports. Responders were told the victim was a 39-year-old man who was bleeding and not breathing.

Units first were dispatched to the Seventh Street crossing in the borough, but eventually were directed to the area of the Chestnut Street bridge near the Pennsylvania Turnpike in Upper Milford.

A coroner was called about 11:35 a.m., according to scanner transmissions.

There was no indication of the circumstances of the incident.
