A Macungie man recently choked a woman in a Lower Macungie Township home, threatened to kill her and broke open a locked door, striking her in the head with it, according to police.
Paul Stephen Voros, 29, was charged with making terroristic threats at 11:13 p.m. Saturday following the violent incident in the home in the 1800 block of Aster Road in the Ancient Oaks development, State Police at Fogelsville said.
A verbal argument escalated into Voros striking the woman with a cell phone charger, police said. Voros next choked her with both hands, leaving bruises around her neck, police said. He told her he would kill her, police said.
The woman got away and locked herself in a bathroom, police said. However, Voros broke open the door, hitting her in the head with it and leaving a large bump on her forehead, police said. He also punched her in the ear, leaving bruising, police said.
Police did not say how the alleged assault ended or how they were called. They also did not say whether the woman required medical treatment.
Voros was charged with making terroristic threats, simple assault and harassment, police said.
He was released from Lehigh County Prison Monday after posting $20,000 bail, according to court documents. A Preliminary Arraignment was conducted by Magisterial Districut Judge Rod Beck of Slatington.
