Motorcyclist Badly Hurt in Lower Macungie Accident

Police say Trexlertown man rolled his bike trying to avoid vehicle backing onto roadway.

A Trexlertown motorcyclist received serious injuries Thursday afternoon when he crashed trying to avoid a car backing onto a Lower Macungie Township roadway, police said.

Jeffrey K. Ceykovsky, 52, received what termed a major injury as he rode along Weilers Road near Creamery Road about 2:30 p.m. Ceykovsky skidded as he saw the vehicle being driven by James E. Pressler, 20, of Macungie.

Ceykovsky lost control and hit the rear bumper of the car before tumbling to the ground, police said.

He was transported to a hospital by , police said. Trexlertown Fire Department also responded.
