Condition of beating victim in attempted 'mercy killing' not released by hospital

Neighbors say they knew life was a struggle for a hard-working Lower Macungie man accused of beating his wife in an attempted "mercy killing," according to this Morning Call report.

John Geisinger, 66, is jailed in Lehigh County Prison in lieu of $1 million bail following Thursday on his wife, Louella, who has multiple sclerosis. Louella's condition has not been released by hospital officials.
