Police sent a Reading driver a message Feb. 14, but it wasn't a valentine.
Rafael Navas, 39, was stopped at 4:27 p.m. at Bogie Avenue in Lower Macungie Township for an unspecified traffic violation, according to state police at Fogelsville. However, before the traffic stop was complete, police learned that Navas had provided them with false identification.
That act led to the arrest of Navas, who was taken to Lehigh County Centeral Booking, police said. He was released on $2,000 unsecured bail.
Besides being charged with providing false identification to law enforcement, Navas also was charged with driving an unregistered vehicle, driving without a license and carrying an improper registration card for the vehicle he was driving, according to records filed through Magisterial District Judge Michael J. Faulkner's office.
