No One Hurt in East Texas Road Head-On Crash
One car carried three children; other driver cited for going too fast for conditions, state police say.
No one was hurt in a head-on crash Monday morning on East Texas Road, with one of the cars carring three children -- including a 1-year-old girl and a 6-year-old boy.
State police at Fogelsville said the driver of the other car, Timothy Flecha, 26, of Macungie was cited for driving too fast for conditions. Flecha was driving alone.
According to the police fax:
Flecha was eastbound on East Texas Road just west of Morning Star Drive in Lower Macungie Township around 7:25am when he crossed into the westbound lane and hit the other car head-on.
Flecha, operating a 1996 Dodge Neon, was driving through a right curve when he crossed into the westbound lane.
The other car, a 1998 Toyota Camry, was driven by Toni Molinari, 35, of Wescosville. In addition to the three children, she had an adult passenger -- Jean Bermudez, 36, of Oceanside, N.Y., on Long Island's Nassau County.
The three children, all with Wescosville addresses, were an 11-year-old girl, a 1-year-old girl, and a 6-year-old boy. The 1-year-old and 6-year-old were in child safety seats, and the 11-year-old was wearing a lap belt.
The cars came to rest in the westbound lane of East Texas Road. Both sustained "moderate" front-end damage and were towed by Faust Towing.
