PennDOT Removes Speed Restrictions, Still Warns of Roadway Dangers

Speed restrictions removed on I-78, but PennDOT still urges driver to take precautions.

Update Dec. 27, 1:14 pm: PennDOT lifts speed restrictions on I-78. Officials are still urging motorists to take necessary precautions while driving

Though the snow has stopped falling in the Lehigh Valley, PennDOT reminds motorists to remain wary of driving conditions. In a statement released this morning, officials warned that windy conditions can cause unexpected dangers along roadways, including downed power lines and trees, as well as rapidly developing snow drifts.

PennDOT also strongly urges motorists to heed all "road closed" signs and to call emergency services immediately if they encounter a downed wire.
