Police Announce Another Lehigh County Checkpoint
Deterrent for drinking and driving is planned for this weekend, they say.
You know the scene.
It's dark. You round a bend. A sign warns you to slow down. Emergency road flares glow. Several police officers stand ready to ask you where you have been tonight.
have announced that they will hold another sobriety checkpoint between tonight and Sunday at an undisclosed Lehigh County location.

The time is now to decide whether you will avoid living out this scene by foregoing that extra drink -- or two -- before turning the key.
The message from state police is clear: Stay safe and avoid this situation. But, if you don't, they stand ready to pull you off the road in an effort to reduce alcohol-related motor vehicle accidents and the number of deaths and injuries as well as the amount of property damage they cause.

State police routinely announce weekends in which they will conduct sobriety checkpoints and the county in which they will do so, but they don't state the hours of operation or exact location. You wouldn't expect answers to be provided for test questions prior to an exam would you?
Their point is to put this information out there as a deterrent. Stay safe and everyone is happy, but cross the line and you will face the consequences.
In a recent similar operation, state police stopped 196 vehicles between 11 p.m. and 2:30 a.m overnight March 23 on the Route 222 Bypass near Krocks Road in Lower Macungie Township. The checkpoint nabbed four for driving under the influence, 17 summary citations and three written warnings, police announced.
