Police: 73 Bags of Heroin Found in I-78 Traffic Stop

Three men were charged with possession with intent to deliver, according to state police at Fogelsville.

Three people face drug charges after state police allegedly found 69 baggies of heroin in their vehicle -- and four on a suspect -- following a traffic stop on Interstate 78 in Upper Macungie.

State police at Fogelsville said Ramon Torres and James Eichenlaub, both of Chambersburg, and Maurice Nelson of Bronx, N.Y., were charged following a traffic stop at 1:14 a.m. Friday on I-78 at mile marker 49.2 in Upper Macungie.

Police said they found 69 baggies of heroin in a search of the vehicle. They said another four baggies were in Nelson's anal cavity, and he retrieved them.

Nelson was charged with possession with intent to deliver, possession of a controlled substance, possession of drug paraphernalia and traffic violations, according to online court records. 

Torres and Eichenlaub were each charged with conspiracy possession with intent to deliver, conspiracy possession of a controlled substance and conspiracy possession of drug paraphernalia, according to online court records.

All three were sent to Lehigh County Prison in lieu of $100,000 bail each.
