Police: Car Runs Red Light, Crashes, Causes Injury in Lower Mac
Macungie woman, 71, is one of two drivers who are slightly injured on Hamilton Boulevard.
Two women recently received minor injuries when one of them ran a red light at a busy Lower Macungie Township intersection, according to police.
Karen M. Reiss, 71, of Macungie was stopped at a red light northbound on Minesite Road at Hamilton Bouldevard at 10:33 a.m. Aug. 28, according to . Her light turned green and she began to pull into the intersection.
However, as she did, the car driven by Ashley D. Dierolf, 22, of Reading failed to stop for a red light and crashed into the driver's side of Reiss' car, police said. Dierolf was traveling northbound on Hamilton.

Police said both drivers were injured and was called. However, injuries apparently were not serious enough to warrant transport to a hospital for either driver.
Dierolf was cited for failure to obey a traffic signal, police said.
