Police: L. Mac Man Claiming To Be God Threatens to Blow Up His House

Rigoberto Ruiz threatens wife and mother-in-law, court records say; he is sent to county prison.

A Lower Macungie man -- claiming he is God, "the king of kings" and "had won the war on evil" -- told his wife and mother-in-law he was going to "blow up the house and make them disappear," court records say.

Police arrived at the home of Rigoberto Jesus Ruiz, 48, at 4119 Driftwood Lane around 6:20 Wednesday night, the records say.

The mother-in-law, who uses a walker, told police she stood up from a recliner with the intention of going to the bathroom when Ruiz "pushed her back into her recliner," according to the records.

Ruiz, meanwhile, told police he did not speak English but told his wife in Spanish "that he is God and created the police," the records say.

The records say Ruiz was born in Honduras. A fax from state police at Fogelsville says the women are ages 42 and 65.

The wife told police her husband made repeated threats during the day to blow up the house.

Ruiz was arraigned around 10 Wednesday night by on-duty District Judge Michael Faulkner of Upper Macungie on two counts of terroristic threats and three counts of harassment, online court records say.

He was committed to Lehigh County Prison in lieu of $7,500 bail.
