An unknown vehicle drove off Quarry Road into a front yard last week and before it got back on the road it damaged a small light post and didn't stop to tell the residents.

That's the story from a state police fax about the Jan. 15 incident on the 7500 block of Quarry Road, west of Route 100.

State police still don't know the kind of vehicle involved or who the driver was.

The fax says the vehicle was west of Quarry Road about 8:22 a.m. when it left the roadway and drove into a front yard. The driver was performing a "turn-around" when the vehicle's rear bumper struck the light post.

The fax doesn't give a dollar amount of damage. But it does say the vehicle then continued west on Quarry without reporting the damage to the residents.
