Police: Macungie Woman Hurt in Crash Near Emmaus

Maryland driver crossed into her lane, state troopers report.

A Macungie-area driver was slightly hurt recently when a vehicle crossed into her lane and struck her vehicle in Lower Macungie Township, police said.

Wendy G. Santini, 52, was traveling west on Lower Macungie Road at 6:42 p.m. Jan. 25 when a car traveling east crossed the center line, according to state police at Fogelsville. The Honda CRV driven by Anne A. Alexander, 48, of Bethesda, Md., struck the Honda Insight driven by Santini on the driver's side of the vehicle.

Both vehicles came to rest in the westbound lane about a quarter of a mile from Cedar Crest Boulevard, police said.

Santini received a minor unspecified injury, police said. She was transported to a hospital by Emmaus Ambulance Corps.

Alexander was cited for driving at an unsafe speed, police said.
