Police: Man Flees Walmart With TV, Dumps it in Parking Lot
Man escapes after botched get-away, troopers say.
This time, the action drama wasn't on T.V. but all around it.
Instead of one of those re-runs played in the wee hours of the morning, this 4:42 a.m. drama on Dec. 8 was for real, according to police.
A male shopper placed a 32-inch television set in a cart at Walmart in Lower Macungie Township, but left the 1091 Mill Creek Road store without paying, according to state police at Fogelsville. A store security officer chased the man into the parking lot.

There, all did not go smoothly. The shoplifter was unable to open the door to the get-away car, police said.
So, he fled, but apparently left the T.V. behind. Meanwhile, the passenger slid into the driver's seat. He eventually picked up the fleeing shoplifter and both left the lot in a blue Hyundai Elantra, police said.

Police classified the offense as an attempted retail theft.
