Police: Woman Badly Hurt When Her Car Rear-Ends Another
Driver in front of her stopped, but she did not in Lower Macungie crash, troopers say.
One of two drivers was badly hurt Wednesday morning following a crash at a busy Lower Macungie Township intersection, according to reports.
Kelly A. Hamway, 42, whose hometown was not given by police, was involved in the 7:41 a.m. accident at Cedar Crest Boulevard and Lower Macungie Road, said state police at Fogelsville. Hamway and the other driver, Erin M. Miller, 20, of Emmaus were traveling northbound on Cedar Crest Boulevard.
Miller was traveling in front of Hamway and stopped in the intersection to turn left onto Lower Macungie Road, police said. Hamway was unable to stop her Pontiac Grand Am in time and crashed into the back of Miller's Acura Integra.

Hamway was transported to a local hospital by Macungie Ambulance Corps, police said. Miller did not require transport. Lower Macungie Fire Department assisted.
Hamway was charged with driving at an unsafe speed, police said.
