Rig with 'Numerous Lights' Knocks Down Power Lines, Keeps Going

Police say tractor trailer kept going after hitting lines at St. Peters and Heistand roads in Upper Milford.

State police are looking for a tractor trailer that kept going after knocking down "numerous" power lines Sunday night at St. Peters and Heistand roads in Upper Milford, causing St. Peters to be closed for "numerous hours."

A state police fax described the rig as having a dark-colored cab and a white semitrailer "with numerous lights on the combination."

The rig turned left onto St. Peters from Heistand, then continued west on St. Peters, the fax said of the 8:10pm incident.

PPL was called and as a result St. Peters was closed for "numerous hours" so crews could repair the downed lines, the fax said. In describing the incident, the fax lists a violation of "careless driving."

Anyone with information is asked to call state police at Fogelsville at 610-395-1438.
