Showering Resident Scares off Lower Mac Intruder
Burglary attempt goes down the drain, police say.
It's tough to say who likely was more surprised: the burglar who encountered a Lower Macungie resident at home or the resident who was showering and wasn't expecting a burglar to come calling.
Either way, both probably would like to wash their hands of the matter.
State police at Fogelsville said an unknown person entered a residence about 3:30 p.m. Jan. 17 in the 1200 block of Country Club Road. That person used an open garage door as an invitation to go on inside and rummage through drawers in the kitchen area.

Apparently hearing noise downstairs, the resident exited the shower and yelled downstairs in an effort to scare away the intruder. While the adage goes that a little soap and water never hurt anyone, apparently this burglar didn't agree and beat a hasty retreat from the residence.
The report made no mention of anything missing.
