Signs of a New College School Year?

State police report theft of Lower Macungie stop sign.

Ah, the return of late summer and the start of a new college school year.
The signs are all there: bustling campuses, long lines at the book stores and the parade of young adults making trips to Wal-Mart, Target and the like to customize those dorm rooms to a student's liking.
But besides the posters, rugs and beer signs that adorn countless dorm rooms comes another campus favorite: the ever-popular road sign.
Now it's just a guess, mind you, but this annual ritual springs to mind with the report  of a stop sign being stolen Aug. 20 from a Lower Macungie intersection.
According to , three people who arrived in a white, mid-'90s pickup truck were seen removing the sign from the intersection of Pembrooke and Dubonnet drives.
The intersection will look a little bare until the sign is replaced, but -- best guess -- it's looking mighty fine as the centerpiece of someone's dorm room decorating decor.
