State Police Release Lower Macungie Incidents

The following information was supplied by troopers at the barracks in Fogelsville. Where arrests or charges are mentioned, it does not indicate a conviction.

recently released the following incidents for Lower Macungie Township:

Theft: Reported Aug. 9 by Eastern Highway Specialist of Wilmington, Del.; 50 steel brackets taken from work site at Route 100 and Creamery Road, police said; $2,500 estimated loss.

Access device fraud: Reported Aug. 7 by Gail Lomauro of Macungie; attempted on-line credit purchase of $99 by an unauthorized person, police said; purchase declined and victim notified.

Motor vehicle accident: Aug. 9 at 6:33 p.m. at Cedar Crest Boulevard and Minesite Road; Marisa C. Miller, 17, of Macungie moderately injured when her vehicle cut in front of one driven by Casey D. Weidemann, 28, of Philadelphia, police said; Miller was trying to cross Cedar Crest Boulevard; Miller transported by Macungie Ambulance to Lehigh Valley Hospital-Cedar Crest; Weidemann treated for minor injuries at scene; Miller cited for failing to yield the right of way.

Theft from motor vehicle: Reported Aug. 4 in the 3600 block of Clauss Drive by Janice Froshour of Macungie; unspecified items removed from unlocked vehicle, police said; no value given.

Theft from motor vehicle: Reported Aug. 7 by Donald Jones of Macungie in the 2900 block of Sequoia drive; unspecified items taken from unlocked motor vehicle, police said; no value given.

Theft from motor vehicle: Reported Aug. 7 by David Walter Philips at 3193 Sequoia Drive; GPS and XM satellite radio taken from unlocked vehicle, police said; no value given.

Theft from motor vehicle: Reported July 18 by Jessica Sorrell in the 900 block of Cold Spring Road; Duffie bag of clothing taken from unlocked vehicle; police said clothing recovered intact while investigating additional thefts from motor vehicles and returned to owner.

Theft from motor vehicle: Reported Aug. 4 by Andrew J. Doran of Allentown; black Droid cell phone taken while owner was inside Wawa at 3321 Willow Lane, police said; no value given.

Charged: Alexandra G. Reekie, 25, of Fogelsville Aug. 6 with driving vehicle at an unsafe speed after accident at 4:17 p.m. at Brookside and Princeton roads; struck vehicle from behind that was attempting to turn from Brookside onto Princeton, police said; no reported injuries.

Charged: Jeffrey J. Benetzky, 45, of Northampton Aug. 4 at 4:30 p.m. following accident at Alburtis and Schoeneck roads; Benetzky failed to properly stop his vehicle and struck the right side of vehicle driven by Jennifer L. Erie, 31, of Macungie, police said; no reported injuries.

Motor vehicle accident: Susan J. Haring, 55, of Mertztown, a driver of one of the vehicles, received a moderate injury in a 1:43 p.m. accident Aug. 8 at Mill Creek and Lower Macungie roads, police said; six others received minor injuries; the driver of the first vehicle, Matthew D. Schaeffer, 18, of Topton, was cited for making an improper turn.
