Student Disrupts Bus Ride in Lower Macungie
14-year-old is charged with pushing buttons and pulling at wires on the dashboard, police say.
A school bus driver was able to fend off an out-of-control passenger recently who began pushing buttons and pulling wires out of the dashboard, according to police.
The bus, transporting the 14-year-old student from lehigh Learning Adjustment School, was northbound on Route 100 near Spring Creek Road in Lower Macungie Township, according to state police at Fogelsville. The facility is an alternative school in Orefield for middle and high school students.
Police said the disruptive student made his way to the front of the bus and began pushing buttons and pulling at wires. There was no explanation as to why.

Deborah Alice Ciappa of Andreas, Schuylkill County, was driving at the time of the 3:30 p.m. April 12 incident. Two other juveniles were passengers. No injuries or collision was reported.
Charges of reckless endangerment were to be filed in lehigh County Juvenile Court, police said.
