Taser Used on Man Who Attacked Officer, Police Say

Man was talking incoherently and would not leave Macungie apartment, a borough officer reports.

A Macungie police officer used a Taser® recently to subdue a man who was speaking incoherently before turning on him, according to a department release.

Police said that the man, Michael J. Mason, 35, no permanent address, was not injured in the altercation. But they did say the incident started when they were called to 10 W. Main St., Apt. 5 for a report of a disturbance.

Once there, they found the apartment's lessee -- unnamed by police -- who said that Mason was speaking incoherently and refused to leave. When police confronted Mason, he attacked the officer, police said.

The unnamed officer used the Taser to subdue Mason and arrest him, police said.

Mason was taken to the Lehigh County Central Booking Center on charges of simple assault and resisting arrest or other law enforcement measures, police said. He was being held under $25,000 bail, according to county court records.

Hi, In running for his very first office, State Rep, Charlie Dent promised, if elected, the $7,000.00 annual increase PA. House just approved would all go to local charities. He won - no one got a cent! People who courteously stood their ground to talk to them, got sent to jail, and heavily fined. Their crime? They wanted to meet with their Congressman So I created a petition to Rep. Charlie Dent, U. S. House of Reps., which says: "Get 'the Dent' out of Congress !!" Will you sign this petition? Click here: http://signon.org/sign/expose-the-dent-in-congress?source=c.fwd.in&r_by=110411 Thanks!

I don't believe that the comment portion of the Patch website is an appropriate use for your personal political views in getting petitions signed, whether I would agree with them or not.

This is an article about an arrest made by the Macungie PD. What does that have to do with your opinion about Charlie Dent?
