Girl, 11, Punched at Roller Rink

Older girl is charged with harassment for assault on an 11-year-old at Lower Macungie roller skating facility, troopers say.

A Saturday evening at a Lower Macungie Township roller skating rink was more like the old-style roller derby as punches flew, according to police.

But instead of rock-em-sock-em action akin to "pro wrestling" that took place between teams of adults in a roller rink, this action was real, took place between two juveniles and ended in charges being filed by state police at Fogelsville.

Police did not say what touched off the incident at 9:58 p.m. Jan. 5 at Roller Motion at 1609 Trexlertown Road. They also did not say whether the two girls knew each other.

But they did say that a 15-year-old punched an 11-year-old girl in the face and stomach several times. There was no mention of injuries.

The 15-year-old was charged with harassment through Magisterial District Judge Michael Faulkner of Upper Macungie Township.
