Thefts from Excavator, Unlocked Car Reported in Lower Mac

Excavator was on Ruth Road, unlocked car was in Fairways at Brookside, state police say.


Police report thefts from two vehicles in Lower Macungie this week -- one involving an unlocked car and the other involving an excavator.

In the first case, someone entered an unlocked car at the Fairways at Brookside development, ransacked it and took a state registration card, state police at Fogelsville said.

The victim was a 71-year-old man and the address was the 2700 block of Rolling Green Place, the state police fax said.

Anyone with information is asked to call state police at 610-395-1438.

In the second case, someone smashed a window on the driver's side of an excavator and stole a shovel from the passenger compartment.

The excavator was parked on Ruth Road between Spring Creek Road and Smith Lane. The incident occurred between 4pm Tuesday and 6:30am Wednesday, the fax said. The victim was identified as Grace Industries, the fax said.
