Thieves Find Jewelry is Hot Item at Lower Mac Store

Kohl's reports $2,755 worth of earrings taken, police say.

The jewelry at in Lower Macungie Township is receiving a lot of attention these days, but it isn't because of a big sale or some glitzy promotion.

Instead, it apparently has caught the eye of thieves, according to police reports.

The latest items to fly off the shelves were sterling silver earrings, according to .  Police did not say how many sets of earrings were taken or under what circumstances, but the value was $2,755.

The theft took place between 1:50 and 2:44 p.m. July 23 in the store at 6900 Hamilton Blvd., police said.

The store loss comes on the heels of a report July 6 that two men switched a fake ring for a Cherish diamond ring in a white gold setting, police said. Police did not show a value on that loss.
