State police at Fogelsville made three retail theft arrests Saturday night at Walmart in Lower Macungie Township.

In one incident, two women were charged with trying to leave the store with $427.81 in merchandise inside a shopping cart without paying. They "dropped the cart" when confronted with store loss-prevention personnel, police said.

Charged were Yamilex Marie Rivera, 18, of Bethlehem and Kellie Rose Fischl, 28, of Whitehall. The incident occurred at 8:16 p.m.

They were arraigned Sunday morning by on-duty District Judge Patricia Engler of Allentown and released on $10,000 unsecured bail each, according to online court records.

A little more than an hour after the first incident, Zachary Daniel Bez, 20, of Macungie was arrested for allegedly attempting to steal $38.44 in merchandise, police said.

Police said Bez was charged with retail theft, but no information was listed in the online records Monday afternoon.

The Walmart is at 1091 Millcreek Road.
