Toronto-Area Man Cited in R.100 Rear-End Crash
Other driver suffers minor injury in crash at R.100 and Sauerkraut Lane in Lower Mac.
A Toronto-area man has been cited in a rear-end car crash Thursday afternoon on Route 100 at Sauerkraut Lane in Lower Macungie, police say.
The driver of the car that was hit -- a Kutztown woman -- suffered a minor injury. No one was hurt in the other vehicle, which carried two passengers -- both, like the driver, from Ontario.
State police at Fogelsville say a 2014 Jeep Patriot driven by James H. Fox, 42, of the Toronto-area community of Mississauga hit the back of a 1988 Oldsmobile Cutlass driven by Ashley T. Richmond, 21.
Both vehicles were southbound on Route 100 at the Sauerkraut Lane traffic light around 3:10 pm, with the Jeep behind the Cutlass. The Cutlass was yielding to a car making a left onto Sauerkraut when the Jeep hit the back of the Cutlass, a police fax said.
Macungie ambulance treated Richmond. Fox was cited for following too closely, the fax said.
Fox's passengers were Wayne A. Mount, no age given, of Grimsby, Ontario, and Brian Bennett, no age given, of Oakville, Ontario.
