Traffic Stop Leads to DUI, Drug Paraphernalia Charges

Traffic stop was early Friday on Lower Macungie Road, state police say.

Two young men are facing charges following a traffic stop early Friday in Lower Macungie that revealed suspected drunken driving and possession of drug paraphernalia.

State police said they stopped a vehicle driven by Ayaz Ahmed, 21, of Macungie on Brookside Road north of Lower Macungie Road. The vehicle was stopped around 2:26 a.m. for summary traffic violations, a state police fax says.

Police found that a passenger, Joseph Robert Ogden Davies, 20, of Emmaus, possessed suspected drug paraphernalia, the fax says. Ahmed, meanwhile, was arrested for suspected drunken driving.
