$626 in Goods Hidden in Trash Can, Carried Out of Walmart, Police Say

Two are charged in the theft, troopers report, but two others on the same day stole and filled Walmart re-usable bags and walked away without paying.

The Walmart in Lower Macungie Township had a tough stretch in April and in March, according to police reports.

As reported most recently, two people succeeded April 10 in helping themselves to re-usable Walmart bags for sale on store shelves, filled them and walked out of the store without paying, according to state police at Fogelsville. The pair had not been caught as of April 25.

That same day, two people allegedly used a black trash can to conceal merchandise. The pair placed several items in the trash can and walked out of the store at 1091 Mill Creek Road without paying for the goods, police said.

Elmer Garbriel Rosado-Gonzalez, 29, of Allentown and a 16-year-old Allentown boy are accused of retail theft in the incident, police said. The merchandise they attempted to shoplift was valued at $626.55.

Charges in this case have been filed against both through the office of Magisterial District Judge Michael Faulkner of Upper Macungie Township, police said.

Police also said that on March 27, Walmart reported the theft of $200. The accused is Shaquania Jasmine Caldwell of Allentown, police said.

An apparent store employee, Caldwell took a $50 bill from the cash register on four occasions between March 11 and 27, police said.
