Trucker Unhurt in Lower Macungie Rollover

Tractor-trailer tipped over rounding a curve on Route 309, police say.

A North Carolina trucker avoided injury June 14 despite his tractor-trailer tipping over into a gully along Route 309 in Lower Macungie Township, according to .

Abdessamad N. Idrissi, 29, of Durham was in the right-hand travel lane, applied his brakes, but was unable to negotiate a turn on Route 309 just prior to the merge point with Interstate 78, police said. The tractor-trailer went off the right side of the road, overturned, hit a bank and came to rest on its side in a gully next to the roadway at 5:11 p.m.
